Frederick Gardiner Perry, Sr. and his wife Helen attended the Assembly yearly from the early days, at least as far back as 1933. He worked tirelessly for the FNCA, serving on the Trustees for many decades, helping to open and close camp for decades, and repairing everything from plumbing to water pumps during camp. He served as the 4th president of the FNCA from 1947-1964.

His successor, Rev. Dr. George F. Dole wrote:

"Dear Friends:

I am writing very much aware that our Trustee par excellence, Gardiner Perry, passed into the spiritual world only yesterday. He gave very freely of his time, energy, and ability to the Assembly during some very critical years; he saw through to completion a considerable expansion of the facilities while so many things in the church were shrinking; and we shall be hard put to fid an apprpriate wa to remind future generations of the extent of his contribution."
